School starts at 9am and ends at 3pm. Please aim to have your child at school on time.

Your child should arrive in time for school to start at 9:00 am.  Our playground gates are opened at 8:45am and locked at 9:05am. 

• P1a, P1b, P2/1, P2 and P3 pupils should all enter via Gate 1 on Broadlie Drive. We would encourage you to allow your child to line up with their class and will encourage them to become more independent. Please do not stand beside the line when the bells rings. 

9am is not a good time to speak to class teachers - they are busy with the children. Please speak to the adult on the gate to pass on any messages.

• P4/3, P4, P5a, P5b, P6a, P6b, P7a and P7b pupils should all enter via Gate 3 on Broadlie Drive or Gate 4 on Caldwell Avenue.

If the weather is wet, your child will be escorted into school where they are supervised by school staff and P7 monitors.

Our gates are opened at 2:50pm to allow access to the playground to collect your child.  Your child should know who is collecting them each day.  We will look after younger children in their class / at the office until they are collected.

We ask that when you are dropping off or picking up your child that you please park responsibly.

Car-Free Zone

Bankhead Primary School is part of the GCC's Glasgow School car free zone policy.

Between the hours of 8.30am-9.15am and 2.30pm-3.15pm, both Caldwell Avenue and Broadlie Drive will be strictly pedestrianised (excluding cycles, residents, blue badge holders and emergency vehicles) during the school term.

We ask that you please respect the car free zones during pick up and drop off for the safety of the children.
