Welcome to Bankhead Primary School

I am delighted as Head Teacher to welcome you to our school website. Our website is designed to give our school community an insight into our school priorities and expectations.

Staff in Bankhead Primary School are passionately committed to working in partnership with pupils, parents and carers and the wider community to ensure that we provide the highest quality of education across all areas of the curriculum.

Our expectation is that we strive to build a nurturing, stimulating learning community in which every child feels included and has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

The website will provide you with all the information you will need and give you a real flavour of the life of our thriving school community.

Should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact the school office; we’ll be happy to help in whatever way we can.

Winter weather

Please continue to send your children dressed for cold weather in coats, hoods, hats, scarfes, gloves and boots, are all great for the colder and wetter days.

If the weather becomes very severe please listen to the local media for school closure information and make sure we have an up to date contact number for you.  More information on safe walking routes into school.

If at any time the school has to close we would contact you to collect your children, we would NEVER send the children home alone.  More information on severe weather during the school day.

If the weather if very severe please use your best judgement about the safety of bringing your child to school.  If the weather is inclement then the doors will open to let the children into their classrooms at 08,45am, where they will be supervised by school staff and Primary 7 pupils.
